MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communication, Business Administration, Marketing or closely related field; and,
  • Three to five (3 -5) years of event experience, activations, negotiating and coordinating with promoters and producers for events for an entertainment venue and/or sports facility; or,
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job and related to the essential functions of the position.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
  • First Aid Certification at time of hire/reclassification.
  • CPR Certification at time of hire/reclassification.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in facility and venue sales, event promotion, booking, set-up, and operation.
  • Park management and administration procedures; applying administrative and managerial principles and practices; federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, City policies and procedures affecting the operation.
  • Work planning methods used in promotion of public events; methods, principles, and practices of public relations and customer service.
  • Contract negotiations and processing; entertainment and talent agency industry practices and processes.
  • Supervisory theories and methods sufficient to be able to perform a variety of supervisory functions.
  • Skill in coordinating and scheduling activities and estimating costs related to the work assignment.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, various representatives of public of private entities, policy making bodies, and the public.
  • Utilizing the principles and practices of effective and persuasive communications to elicit information, negotiate problem resolution, and/or garner support for various programs or policies.
  • Developing and negotiating contracts specific to the field; filling out forms and completing paperwork related to the work assignment; reviewing and analyzing information and formulating logical recommendations.
  • Exercising initiative, judgment and decision making in solving problems and meeting organizational objectives; developing and implementing policies and procedures related to the work assignment; and researching and compiling information common to the field.
  • Ability to receive, evaluate and respond to public complaints; establish and maintain effective working relationships; coordinate efforts with other departments and agencies; make work related decisions and assume responsibility for decision made.
  • Independently adapt, interpret, and apply written guidelines, precedents, and standardized work practices to a variety of unprecedented and problematic situations; identify rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data or other information; analyze information, and make correct inferences or draw accurate conclusions.
  • Understand and interpret written material including technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables and apply what is learned from written material to specific situations; recognize and use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Operate and use a personal computer and associated software programs.
Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and so forth.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before public groups and respond to questions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
