Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications or a closely related field
AND
Minimum of three (3) years recent professional work experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, media coverage or related area to include production of public information materials for either in-house or external distribution using personal computers and desktop publishing software. Demonstrated experience required in performing responsible administrative work in a high profile position dealing with topics under intense public and media scrutiny.
Equivalency: Seven years of recent professional work experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, media coverage or related area may be substituted for the education and experience required above.
Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within 30 days or per state law.
Developing and maintaining effective media relations.
Preparing and editing effective written informational and educational materials.
Supervising and reviewing the work of others.
Research, program analysis, speech writing, and report preparation.
English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Program development and administration.
Budget preparation and administration.
