MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, finance, public administration, accounting or a related field; and,
Four years of progressively complex and responsible accounting work experience to include financial and statistical record keeping in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, financial reporting, bank reconciliations and general ledger using complex Excel spreadsheets. Experience with governmental accounting systems in a public agency setting is desirable.
Equivalency: Eight years of progressively responsible accounting work experience to include financial and statistical record keeping in payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, financial reporting, bank reconciliations and general ledger using complex Excel spreadsheets may be substituted for the required education and the experience listed above.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. Oral board interview with performance exercise (Interview weighted at 100%)
2. Background Investigation
Includes an extensive background check, polygraph/CVSA examination, medical/drug screen exam. All top scoring candidates must pass the Background Investigation in order to move forward in the process.

BACKGROUND PROCESS & PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for this position are subject to pre-employment screenings and employment is contingent upon these results. Pre-employment screenings may include but are not limited to: local, state, and federal criminal history checks, and may require submission of fingerprints; drug screen; and physical examinations to include a psychological evaluation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to work different shifts and is exposed to stress and emergency situations.
Working conditions are typically moderately quiet, but can be loud during periods of peak activity; work with computers in varying light and noise conditions.
Regular and timely attendance is required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
All selected candidates will start at Step 1 with an hourly rate of $24.61.
