ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Pay Considerations –The starting salary for the position is 52,582.24. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, (36-hour work week) Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm
THE ROLE
Performs a variety of highly responsible, confidential and complex secretarial and administrative duties for the assigned Director; represents the assigned office and acts as a liaison with city departments, staff, outside agencies and the general public; attends meetings, prepares reports and performs related duties as required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a highly organized and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment supporting executive leadership. They possess exceptional administrative, communication, and analytical skills, with a proven ability to manage complex calendars, coordinate projects, and handle confidential information with discretion. This individual demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and adaptability while maintaining accuracy and professionalism under pressure. Experience in municipal or government operations and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are highly desirable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in business administration, communications or a field related to a function of municipal government; and
- Three (3) years of full-time progressively responsible administrative and analytical experience performing organizational and operational analysis work in a government or business capacity, including experience supporting a manager or executive level position.
- Equivalency: May substitute a combination of equivalent education and experience. The city assesses 1 year of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
SELECTION PROCESS
- Complete Online Application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
- Typing Test - (Pass/Fail). 45 net words per minute. To be administered by the City.
- Oral Board Interview - (Weighted 100%):
- Review/appeal
- Pre-Employment Screening – For non-police positions only: Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
