ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
THE ROLE
The Business License Intern will support the Business License Division by performing various office and field-based tasks related to the enforcement and auditing of business licenses in compliance with Title 5 of the North Las Vegas Municipal Code. Interns will learn how to review financial records to conduct business audits, gain hands-on experience with enforcement activities and assist in investigations.
Pay Considerations
The hourly pay for this position is $15 - $19 (based on education level).
Work Schedule
This position is scheduled to work up to 19 hours weekly between Monday and Thursday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Part-Time/Temporary Position
- This position is a part time/temporary position and does not include health or medical benefits.
- Hours for this position will not exceed 935 per calendar year (see weekly hours for this position under work schedule).

IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Common office computer software, including database, spreadsheets, word processing and email
- Skill in dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural
backgrounds, in person and over the telephone, often where relations may be confrontational or
strained.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and business operations is preferred
Fluency in Spanish is desired.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Current enrollment in any of the following degree programs: Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, Law Enforcement, or a related field.
- Recent Graduate or Current enrollment with a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (undergraduate level) or 3 credit hours per semester (graduate level)
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- A valid Nevada driver’s license
