MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Equivalency: May substitute 8 years of work experience for the education. The city assesses one year of full time experience as equivalent to one year of education. 

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame. 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • One or more years using automation software and tools, such as Automation Anywhere or UIPath.
  • One or more years using workflow documentation software.
  • One or more years in a business analytics role.
  • Professional Certifications in RPA software and tools. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Acceptable security and asset management practices.
  • A strong business acumen with the ability to understand business challenges and create a solution design to solve business problems.
  • A high-level understanding of the architecture of enterprise and end-user computing; principles and practices of system analysis and customer support; advanced social and communication skills necessary for business analysis efforts
  • Working knowledge of application development and administration; personal computer (PC) operations and associated peripheral equipment; fundamental program development concepts; general database access, design and retention practices; acceptable security practices; common coding and debugging strategies; Microsoft Windows operating systems; and common Information Technology policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal staff, citizens, contractors, and/or government agencies in such areas as responding to citizens' questions, and consulting with others.
  • Ability to independently exercise good judgment within established procedural guidelines; translate customer department needs into project requirements; professionally document, organize, communicate and present information in formal settings; read and comprehend complex training materials and manuals; follow written and verbal directions; meet productivity standards; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; communicate effectively using technical language; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; engage in project work as directed from inception to completion; develop logical procedures and tests to validate application functionality.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain extreme confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Work under pressure, exercise good judgment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to convert high-stress situations into productive activities.
  • Work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
