Key Focus of the Role:

(Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following)

  • Evaluate and recommend a replacement for the City’s SIRE enterprise content management system, evaluating systems in their entirety, including but not limited to: applicability, hardware, software, training, phasing (roll-out) schedule, maintenance and financial consideration.
  • Recommend enhancements and improvements on a regular basis to ensure optimum performance of system selected.
  • Provide input to the City Clerk toward developing and periodically amending the City's Records Management Program, Policies, and Retention Schedule in accordance with Municipal Code Title 2.40.
  • By appraising record inventories and researching applicable federal, state and agencies laws, regulations, policies and procedures, determine the administrative, fiscal, legal, and archival value.
  • Ensure departmental conformance with established records retention schedules by performing periodical audits for compliance.  Prepare reports of findings and analysis and provide recommendations for remediation.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Associate’s degree with major course work in business, public administration, records management or a related field preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible related management experience in the field of Records Management/Retention; OR,

Equivalency: Four (4) years of progressively responsible related management experience in the field of Records Management/Retention may be substituted for the education and experience above.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in municipal government administration.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with an automated agenda management system preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with elections management preferred.
  • Certified Municipal Clerk designation issued by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) preferred.
  • MUST possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.

Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of computers including the use of spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Knowledge of SIRE agenda and document management functions and client software including Minutes Plus, Capture, and FileCenter.
