Community Services and Engagement Intern

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program related to public administration, social work, urban planning, education, or a related field.
• Strong interest in community service, public engagement, and local government operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for community events.

Pay Considerations 
The hourly pay for this position is $18 - $19 based on education level

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of how local government operates across various divisions dedicated to community services.
• Develop skills in project management, public relations, and community engagement.
• Build a professional network within the City of North Las Vegas and related community organizations.
• Enhance your understanding of the needs and challenges faced by diverse community groups, including veterans, homeless individuals, and underserved neighborhoods.

Duration: 

Intern 1: October 1, 2024- December 10, 2024

Intern 2: December 17, 2024 - February 24, 2025
