MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree from an accredited two (2) year college with major course work in secretarial science, business or a related field; and
- Four (4) years of progressively more responsible practical administrative and support work experience for a manager or executive level position involving extensive public contact for a municipality.
- Equivalency: Six years of progressively more responsible practical administrative and support work experience for a manager or executive level position may be substituted for the education and experience required above. The city assesses 1 year of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
- Typing at a rate of 45 net words per minute.
- Must possess or obtain a valid Nevada driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- Preferred: Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently
SELECTION PROCESS
- Complete Online Application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
- E-Skill Typing Test (must pass with 45 words per minute)
- Oral Board Interview
- Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
