MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Twelve months’ office experience in clerical, accounting, legal or related clerical field.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must type 40 accurate net words per minute as demonstrated by a typing certificate dated no more than one year prior to the date of application.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.

SELECTION PROCESS

  1. Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
  2. The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
  3. Personnel File Review (Weighted 10%, Passing Score 70%) – All current employees seeking internal positions will undergo a personnel file review.
  4. E-Skill Typing Test (Pass or Fail) – All internal and external applicants who meet the minimum requirements of the position will be sent an E-skill typing testing from the Human Resources department. Dates to be determined.
  5. Online Assessment - (Weighted 40%, Passing Score 70%) - The most qualified individuals will be invited to participate in an online assessment that may measure candidates ability to maintain attention to detail, customer service and may include items related to performing the essential functions of the position. Dates to be determined.
  6. Oral Board Interview (Weighted 50%, Passing Score 70%) - Top scoring candidates from the online assessment will be invited to participate in the in-person interview. Dates to be determined.
  7. Pre-Employment Screening - Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening.
  8. Selection/Offers

The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards. The City will provide reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities.
