MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Twelve months’ office experience in clerical, accounting, legal or related clerical field.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must type 40 accurate net words per minute.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
- Ability to receive NCIC certification within six months.
SELECTION PROCESS
- Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include.
- Personnel File Review (Pass or Fail) – All current employees seeking internal positions will undergo a personnel file review.
- E-Skill Typing Test (Pass or Fail) – All internal and external applicants who meet the minimum requirements of the position will be sent an E-skill typing testing from the Human Resources department. Dates to be determined.
- Online Assessment - (Pass or Fail, Passing Score 70%) - The most qualified individuals will be invited to participate in an online assessment that may measure candidates ability to maintain attention to detail, customer service and may include items related to performing the essential functions of the position. Dates to be determined.
- Oral Board Interview (Weighted 100%, Passing Score 70%) - Top scoring candidates from the online assessment will be invited to participate in the in-person interview. Dates to be determined.
- Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. **IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
