Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, or closely related acceptable field; and six (6) years management, supervisory experience in a computerized Police Records function.
- Equivalency: a combination of education and six (6) years of statistical and analytical experience, with a minimum of two (2) of the experience being in a law enforcement agency, which included proficiency in GIS and SQL.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
- NCIC/NCJIS Certification required at the time of hire/reclassification. Certification(s) must be maintained as a condition of employment.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. Oral board (Weight 100%, Passing Score 70%)
*Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the list, may require participation in an additional selection interview and that additional selection interview(s) will be weighted at 100% requiring a minimum of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancies.
2. Background Investigation
Includes an extensive background check, polygraph/CVSA examination, medical/drug screen exam. All top scoring candidates must pass the Background Investigation in order to move forward in the process.
3. Selection/Offers
BACKGROUND PROCESS & PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for this position are subject to pre-employment screenings and employment is contingent upon these results. Pre-employment screenings may include but are not limited to: local, state, and federal criminal history checks, and may require submission of fingerprints; drug screen; and physical examinations to include a psychological evaluation.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- While performing essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to walk, sit, stand for extended periods of time, and operate computers, and related office equipment; maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception.
- Works in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with the changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
- Must be available to work any shift and on any day of the week.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- May be required to travel for attendance of specialized training in the area of crime and intelligence analysis or GIS.
SALARY
All selected candidates will start at $62,780.95.
