MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.
- Three (3) years of progressively more responsible professional experience as a Deputy City Attorney I - Civil for the City of North Las Vegas or similar municipality or five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience as a practicing attorney in the assigned specialty area.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada at time of application and be in good standing with all state bars to which he/she is licensed to practice law.
- Must possess a valid Nevada driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver's license within required timeframe.
- Must possess admission (or be willing to apply for admission) to practice law before the Federal District Court of Nevada and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include
- Oral Board Interview - (Weighted 100%)
- Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
