ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

• Pay Considerations – The salary range for the position is $78,928.75 – $118,396.24 Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
• Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36 hour work week), Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm.
• Environment – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25* pounds unassisted. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals, walking, and working on slippery and uneven surfaces. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

THE ROLE

The Engineering Associate (Utilities), plays a vital role in reviewing and evaluating water and sewer design plans for residential, commercial, and industrial development projects. Working under the direction of a Senior Engineer, this position ensures plans meet federal, state, and local regulations while also providing technical guidance on public infrastructure such as utility systems and storm-water facilities. The role requires independent management of multiple project reviews, calculation of connection charges and fees, and coordination of inspection and bonding requirements. Exceptional customer service is key, as the Engineering Associate regularly assists developers, engineers, and the public with technical questions and information related to water and sewer infrastructure.

IDEAL CANDIDATE 

The Engineering Associate (Utilities) will have a strong background in water distribution and wastewater collection facilities hydraulic modeling and design, which may include pump stations, storage reservoirs, well sites, lift
stations, water mains and sewer mains.
