MINIMMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED and;
- Minimum three (3) years of full-time general construction and maintenance work, including two (2) years operating a variety of construction vehicles and equipment.
Licenses and Certifications
- A valid Nevada state Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with a satisfactory motor vehicle record; is required for this position; if candidate does not possess at time of application, they must obtain the Class “B” CDL within six (6) months (Transfer/Promoted) or twelve (12) months (New Hire) from date of hire/ transfer/reclassification or promotion. May require special endorsements; e.g., air brakes, tanker, and/or hazardous materials. Failure to meet the requirement may result in non- confirmation of position.
- Must obtain a completion card for an OSHA 10 Hour Construction within fifteen (15) days of the date of hire.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid IMSA or ATSSA Work Zone Safety Certification within one (1) year of hire or promotion.
- Clark County Air Quality Dust Control within twelve (12) months of date of hire.
- Nevada Department of Transportation Flagger Certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
SELECTION PROCESS
- Practical Exam (Weight 100% Passing Score 70% to move into Oral interview)
- Oral Board (Weight 100%, Passing Score 70%)
Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
