ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Pay Considerations –The starting salary for the position is $77,633.37. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience (include any limitations such as: “but will not exceed the midpoint of the range”). If position will start only at entry rate, insert: The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range, no exceptions.
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, (36 hour work week)Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. May be required to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by department needs.er time.
THE ROLE
Under general direction, develops, manages, and maintains servers, systems, networks, databases and scripts to develop, maintain, and display the City’s geographic information system (GIS). Collaborates with other City departments to ensure the effective integration of GIS data, tools, and technologies into the City’s IT infrastructure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, Geography, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in GIS development, including working with ArcGIS or other GIS software.
- Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education, professional work experience, and training in integrating GIS with software systems, with proven experience in application development and database management. The City assesses one (1) year of professional work experience equal to one (1) year of education.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Nevada state driver’s license, and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GIS Professional (GISP) certification
- Certification in programming languages, including Python or JavaScript
- ITIL or other relevant IT certifications
SELECTION PROCESS

- Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
