MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working as a project manager or IT project manager. 
  • At least 2 successful implementations of Enterprise Information Technology Projects or like size and scope projects.
  • May substitute 4 years of work experience for the education but must also have the five years of experience requirements listed above. The city assesses 1 year of full time experience as equivalent to one year of education.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Must possess or obtain a valid Nevada driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. Complete Online Application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
2. The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
3. Oral Board Interview - (Weighted 100%; Passing Score 70%).  
4. Pre-Employment Screening –   Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.  
5. Selection/Offers
 
The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
