Qualifications and Attributes:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED; and,
Three years of increasingly responsible experience working as office support including two years of experience as a stock clerk, storekeeper, or warehouse worker.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
Must possess and maintain an appropriate forklift certificate within 6 months of the date of appointment.

Knowledge:
Basic principles of perpetual inventory systems.
Basic inventory control, purchasing and warehouse terminology.
Basic knowledge and ability to use a computerized inventory system.
Property accountability methods of storage, receiving, issuing and shipping.
Safe operation of hand and power tools, pallet jacks and furniture moving equipment.
Specialized parts for repairs and maintenance of city equipment.
Skill:
Inventory control and warehousing
Using a computer and software related to the work.
Completing records.
Understanding and using asset management system.
Physical and Mental Abilities:
Read, understand and use equipment, merchandise and specialized parts catalogues.
Read and understand manufacturers' assembly instructions.
Calculate basic arithmetic.
Learn to use computer terminals, hand held computers, PDA, and bar code scanner for inventory control.
Operate pallet jack, motorized forklift and power tools. (Forklift – Utilities Department Only)
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, bend at the waist, and is occasionally required to lift 50 pounds and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Working Conditions:
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly exposed to hot and cold weather conditions, and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, or vibration.
Working conditions are typically moderately quiet, but may be loud while working near power tools, equipment, or machinery.
Regular and timely attendance is required.
