ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Pay Considerations – The salary range for the position is $97,715.37 - $158,904.02. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience.
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, (36 hour work week)Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
THE ROLE
Provides oversight for the accurate and timely preparation, analysis, and evaluation of grant-related financial operations, including account creation, financial statement preparation, budget preparation, grants revenue accounts receivable, subaward accounts payable and other fiscal duties. Assists in maintaining compliance with all applicable requirements and regulations for the use of funds. Ensures documentation meets audit requirements and represents the department in the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and Schedule of Federal Expenditures (SEFA).

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for the Grants Accounting Manager position is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in ERP system integration, preferably in a grants accounting context. This candidate demonstrates strong leadership abilities managing direct reports effectively and fostering a collaborative, result-driven work environment. Experienced presenting complex technical information to various audiences and training direct reports and other department on ERP functionalities through clear, step-by-step training methodology. Efficient developing and implementing SOPs and "how-to" training materials, while ensuring all financial and grant-related data are managed with integrity and aligned with organizational goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business/Public Administration, Finance, or Accounting. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Five (5) years of progressively complex and responsible work experience in grant accounting and/or management, including two (2) years of supervisory and training experience.
- Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position. The City assesses one (1) year of fulltime work experience as equivalent to one (1) year of education.
Licenses and Certifications
- Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) is preferred
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Nevada state driver’s license, and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
