ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Pay Considerations – If position is non-exempt (hourly), insert: The starting annual salary for this position is $62,947.79.
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, (36 hour work week) Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm May be required to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by department needs. Position will be located at the City of North Las Vegas Fire Administration Building: 4040 Losee Rd. NLV, NV 89030
THE ROLE
Under general direction, creates and implements professional level video, visual and digital media and marketing materials and content in support of the City of North Las Vegas’ public information platforms and communication programs, activities, efforts, and special programs specifically within the Fire Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, or a closely related field; and
- Minimum of three (3) years recent professional work experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, media coverage or related area.
- Demonstrated experience required in working in a high-profile position dealing with topics under intense public and media scrutiny.
- Or, and equivalent combination of education, training or experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, media coverage or related area. The City assesses one (1) year of full-time experience as equivalent to one (1) year of education.
- Must possess or obtain a valid driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain an appropriate Nevada state driver’s license.
SELECTION PROCESS

- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
- Oral Board Interview
- Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
