MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and two years of highly responsible office support experience.
Prefer some continuing education in secretarial science, business or job-related.
Licenses and Certifications:
(Depending upon area of assignment)
NCIC Certification.
Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driverβs license within required time frame.
Skills:
Analytical skills necessary to perform numerical calculations, to obtain totals, balances, and verify information from complex forms and transfer to computers or manual reports.
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with internal staff, citizens and other City officials and staff in order to give and extricate information in a courteous and friendly manner.
Skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks.
Typing at a rate of 45 net words per minute.
Physical and Mental Abilities:
Oral and written communication ability equivalent to that normally acquired through a high school education is required.
Knowledge of general office procedures, practices, English, spelling, punctuation, grammar with proficiency on computer and other office equipment.
Analytical abilities are required to integrate and interpret data from various sources and to implement programs.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering phones or speaking in person to citizens requiring assistance.
Working Conditions:
Works in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Regular and timely attendance is required.
