MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major related to the essential functions
- Three years of increasingly responsible experience in recreation, event planning, and management
- Note: Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job and to the essential functions of the positions.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
- First Aid Certification is preferred at time of hire, but must be obtained within 60 days of the date of hire.
- CPR Certification is preferred at time of hire/reclassification, but must be obtained within 60 days of the date of hire.
- Certified Pool Operator/Aquatic Facility Operator required within one year of appointment. (Aquatics)
SELECTION PROCESS

SB327 Review/appeal date - Thursday, December 14, 2023
3. Selection Interview (tentative) - December 18, 2023. Top candidate will be invited to participate in this activity from the oral board interview.
4. Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history check via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening.
5. Selection/Offers
Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
