A Senior Court Clerk is an essential member of our team and we invite you to apply and help contribute to CNLV’S growing success! 

This posting will create a non-probationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill one (1) vacancy for this classification. The current vacancy is in the Municipal Court department. The eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification, for up to one hundred eighty (180) days. Non-probationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION:

  • Pay Considerations – The starting hourly pay for this position is $26.05. The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range, no exceptions. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
  • Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm. 

THE ROLE:

Performs a wide variety of specialized clerical duties in support of the Municipal Court including records management, data entry and court room clerical support; and to provide information and assistance to the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or G.E.D certificate
  • Two (2) years court clerk experience in the North Las Vegas Municipal Court or an equivalent court.
  • Experience in court preparation preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must type 45 accurate net words per minute.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
  • NCIC certification at the time of hire/promotion/reclassification.

SELECTION PROCESS

  1. Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
  2. The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include.
  3. E-Skill Typing Test (Pass or Fail) – All internal and external applicants who meet the minimum requirements of the position will be sent an E-skill typing testing from the Human Resources department. Dates to be determined.
  4. E-Skills Job Skills Assessment - (Pass or Fail) - The most qualified individuals will be invited to participate in an online assessment that may measure candidates ability to maintain attention to detail, customer service and may include items related to performing the essential functions of the position. Dates to be determined.
  5. Oral Board Interview (Weighted 100%, Passing Score 70%) - Top scoring candidates from the online assessment will be invited to participate in the in-person interview. Dates to be determined.
  6. Pre-Employment ScreeningSelected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. **IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
  7. Selection/Offers

The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
