IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have a background in public sector data management with current certifications in data analytics (Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent) and/or data management (Certified Data management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent) and at least four years of experience in data analytics, and business intelligence with expertise in python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. Experience with geospatial analysis and tools is also preferred. They will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving, a commitment to data governance and security, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for business decision making. ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Pay Considerations – The salary range for the position is $83,632.66 - $135,078.16. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience.
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, (36 hour work week) Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
THE ROLE
Under general supervision, performs technical and analytical services that involve collecting and analyzing data to identify patterns, trends, and insights. Communicates findings to business users in order to drive business decisions while following data quality, security, and governance standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
- Four (4) years of professional work experience in the assigned specialty area or data analytics projects with responsibility for providing analytical services to a variety of businesses.
- Equivalency: Eight (8) years of progressively professional work experience in the assigned specialty area or data analytics with responsibility for providing services to a variety of business environments. The City assesses one (1) year of work experience to be equivalent to one (1) year of
education. - Previous experience working in public sector or with government data is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification preferred.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Nevada state driver’s license, and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- NCIC Certification required within six (6) months of hire/reclassification. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification will result in non-confirmation of appointment.
SELECTION PROCESS

- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume – The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
- Pre-screening interview.
- Oral Board Interview.
- Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
