MINIMMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Office Assistant-
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of highly responsible office support experience
Senior Office Assistant-
- All of the above requirements, and;
- Two (2) years as an Office Assistant with the City of North Las Vegas.
- Continuing education in secretarial science, business or related to job is preferred.
- Equivalency: Any combination of four (4) years of related education, training, and experience that produce the knowledge and skills required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within the required time frame.
- NCIC Certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire (Police department positions only)
- Typing Certificate – 45 net words per minute
SELECTION PROCESS
- Oral Board (Weight 100%, Passing Score 70%)
Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
