MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in business communication, communications or a field related to a function of municipal government.
  • Five (5) years of full-time progressively responsible administrative and analytical experience performing organizational and operational analysis work in a government or business capacity, including experience as a supervisor. 
  • Equivalency: May substitute a combination of equivalent education and experience. The city assesses 1 year of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Two (2) years of recent supervisory experience.

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.

SELECTION PROCESS

  1. Complete online application – Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
  2. Application review – Determination of qualifications will be made solely on information provided in the application and responses to the supplemental questions.
  3. Online assessment – The most qualified individuals will be invited to participate in an online assessment that will measure candidates ability to proofread, maintain attention to detail, basic mathematical ability, customer service, and may include items related to performing the essential functions of the positions.
  4.  Virtual pre-screen – Top scoring candidates from the online assessment will be invited to participate in a virtual screening process.
  5.  Interview – Top scoring candidates from the virtual pre-screen will be invited to participate in the in-person interview.
  6.  Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history check via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening.
  7. Selection/Offers

 

The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
