MINIMMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in civil, structural, architectural engineering, or a field related to the work.
- Three years of experience in a combination of residential, commercial and industrial plan checking; or three years’ experience in Structural Engineering Design; or three years’ experience in Architectural Design with emphasis on building codes and regulations.
- Equivalency: Seven years of experience in a combination of residential, commercial and industrial plan checking; or three years’ experience in Structural Engineering Design; or three years’ experience in Architectural Design with emphasis on building codes and regulations may be substituted for the required education listed above.
Licenses and Certifications:
- International Code Council (ICC) Plans Examiner certificate required within one year of hire or promotion.
- Possession of a Nevada Professional Engineer’s License preferred. If licensed in another state, prefer License in the State of Nevada be obtained within one year of hire or promotion.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
