IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Good knowledge of standard applications including word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, collaboration, communication, calendaring software packages.
- Structured Query Language (SQL).
- When Assigned to Oracle ERP Support: Oracle Human Resource, Payroll, Financial and self-service modules.
- When assigned to General Support: Good knowledge of Open Database Connectivity setup.
- Good knowledge of desktop reporting and data filtering products.
- Ability to research and interpret data and arrive at sound and reasonable conclusions and to report on those conclusions in an understandable, clear and concise manner to users, customers, groups and committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration, computer science or instructional design; and,
- Two years of progressively more responsible work experience in the assigned specialty area or project management with responsibility for providing services to a variety of businesses in the automation field or general project experience in a customer or service environment.
- Equivalency: Six years of progressively more responsible work experience in the assigned specialty area or project management with responsibility for providing services to a variety of businesses in the automation field or general project experience in a customer or service environment may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree and the experience listed above.
Licenses and Certifications
- NCIC Certification required within six months of hire/reclassification. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification will result in non-confirmation of appointment.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
SELECTION PROCESS
1. Complete Online Application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
2. The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
3. Oral Board Interview - (Weighted 100%, Passing Score 70%).
4. Pre-Employment Screening – Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening.
5. Selection/Offers - The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
