ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Pay Considerations – The hourly pay range for this position is $35.86 - $51.23 The selected candidate for this position will start at the beginning of the salary range, no exceptions. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement.
- Work Schedule – This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36-hour work week), Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. May be required to work various shifts; emergency call outs; or participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused IT professional with hands-on experience providing desktop and technical support. They are comfortable troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, communicate clearly with users of all technical levels, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while following established IT procedures and security standards.
THE ROLE
Under direct supervision, provides phone and desktop support for the operation, installation, and maintenance of computer and communications hardware, software, and peripherals. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma and, three years of recent paid work experience in one of the following areas: PC repair and troubleshooting, Helpdesk support, Systems Administration. Associates Degree in a related field preferred.
- Equivalency: May substitute a combination of equivalent education and experience. The city assesses 1 year of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
- G.E.D. may be substituted for high school diploma.
Licenses and Certifications
- Microsoft (MCSE/MCP) Certification or CompTIA A+ Certification preferred. Continued paid work experience with continuous use of knowledge acquired after having completed one of the above certifications may be substituted for having a current certification.
- NCIC Certification required within six months of hire/reclassification. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification will result in non-confirmation of appointment.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame.
SELECTION PROCESS - Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include (dates to be determined).
- Oral Board Interview (Weighted 100%, Passing Score 70%):
- Pre-Employment Screening – For non-police positions only: Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. **IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.

The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
