ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
THE ROLE
The Traffic Operations Intern will support the building and traffic operations department general engineering tasks including pavement, marking, signage review, intersection capacity analysis, sight distance studies, signal warrant analysis, and GIS information gathering.
Pay Considerations
The hourly pay for this position is $15 - $19 (based on education level).
Work Schedule
This position is scheduled to work up to 20 hours weekly between Monday and Thursday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Part-Time/Temporary Position
- This position is a part time/temporary position and does not include health or medical benefits.
- Hours for this position will not exceed 935 per calendar year (see weekly hours for this position under work schedule).

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate would possess Basic knowledge/understanding of traffic operations. Senior in college or newly graduated preferred.
The ideal candidate would also be a self-starter and detailed-oriented as well as possess exemplary phone and email etiquette, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Current enrollment in any of the following degree programs: Construction management, Civil engineering, or a related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
- Current enrollment with a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (undergraduate level) or 3 credit hours per semester (graduate level)
- Recent College graduate (2022-now)
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- A valid Nevada driver’s license
