MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a field related to the work.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in applications or systems programming.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain the appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within the required time frame.
SELECTION PROCESS
- Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
- Written Exam (Weighted 30%, Passing Score 70%): The written exam will assess your knowledge of control systems, utility systems, and their operations. Topics may include control system fundamentals, utility system components, operational procedures, troubleshooting and maintenance, and data analysis and reporting and measure knowledge in mathematics.
- Oral Board Interview (Weighted 70%, Passing Score 70%).
- Pre-Employment Screening –Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening.
- Selection/Offers
Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
