MINIMMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in welding, pipe fitting, or satisfactory completion of a two- year community college welding program; and two or more years of progressively responsible skilled experience in in the welding or fabrication trade. Equivalency: A high school diploma or GED and any combination of education, training and experience which produces the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job and related to the essential functions of the position.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license at time of hire; specified positions may require possession of a Class B license.
- Possession of an appropriate forklift certification within six months (6) months from the date of hire.
- Must possess and maintain a State of Nevada Water Distribution Operator Certificate Grade I within eighteen (18) months from time of hire, transfer, promotion, or reclassification.
- Other certification requirements may apply for specific appointments. Reciprocity for equivalent certifications from other states may be considered.
- Completion of OSHA 10 Construction within 15 days from date of hire.
SELECTION PROCESS
- Oral Board (Weight 100%, Passing Score 70%)
Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
