MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Graduation from high school or equivalent AND two (2) years of full-time professional experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility. Equivalent combinations of experience, training, and/or education which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the major functions of the position may be considered.
- All positions must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record with the ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within required time frame and must possess and maintain an appropriate fork lift certificate within 6 months of the date of appointment.
- Must possess a valid State of Nevada Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade II Certificate at time of appointment. Reciprocity for equivalent certifications from other states may be considered.
SELECTION PROCESS
- Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City’s application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
- Written Exam (Weighted 50%, Passing Score 70%)
- Oral Board Interview (Weighted 50%, Passing Score 70%)
- Pre-Employment Screening –Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. **IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete

Note: Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy.
